Quote:From the euractiv site:
"Branson warned in his blog that Britain would be foolish to quit the EU because Europe is likely to be in “far better shape” than the United States in a few years’ time." So will be North Korea, but that is hardly a good enough excuse to remain tied to this cadaver of a customs union, is it. "Europhobia" Who writes this stuff, Goebbels ? When your old arguments no longer seem to cut it, and you are just running out of excuses, not arguments. When you know you cannot debate with your opponents because you know that you will loose and your lies exposed. All you are left with, is just to call your opponents names, like Virus and Europhobic. The end is not yet insight. But the Europhiles must sense that the 'game' could well be up.

US politicians are getting in on the pro-EU stance again. Considering they cannot even sort their own finances etc out I don't know how they have the nerve to say anything about our politics. Seems the NWO is really ramping up: To add to the growing sense of division, the United States today said Britain should not leave the EU. 'We have a growing relationship with the EU as an institution, which has an increasing voice in the world, and we want to see a strong British voice in that EU,' said Philip Gordon, U.S. assistant secretary for European and Eurasian affairs. Wouldn't surprise me that Cameron uses this in his "great speech" on the EU as evidence that we should remain in. Edited by user 09 January 2013 18:40:59(UTC)

Given a choice between winning the next election and being responsible for the exit of the UK from the EU, he doesn't want to win the next election. So the only option he has is to fumble and mumble about a fantasy repatriation and numerous of the Colleagues are quite accurately stating that this isn't on the cards. Anyway, his much awaited speech on 'Europe' has been leaked. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxBtGuu9BVE

Their problem of course is that the leadership of the 220,000 member strong and well financed organisation is that the membership is far more eurosceptic than it’s multiplicity of governing committees.
Back in 2001, I proposed a motion at the FSB’s national conference calling for the organisation to demand (and campaign) that HMG take the UK out of the EU. The motion which was carried by over 2/3rds of the delegates was ignored by the ruling body of the Federation. Subsequent membership surveys have all confirmed that small business people across the UK feel that they would be better off out of the EU.
That the corporate pressure groups are now stepping up to a high profile media campaign giving Mr and Mrs Blogs the impression that business would suffer serious loss if we were to pull out of the EU comes as no surprise to those of us who remember the style and contents of the pro single currency stance of the corporates in the past. The regrettable reluctance of the leadership of small business groups to grasp the advantages of a ‘clause 50 route’ says much about their lack of detailed understanding of the most serious ongoing issue to threaten their prosperity. Perhaps I should re-join the FSB and re-commence a get out of the EU campaign amongst the membership?
As a former member one can only assume that it's been "had" as it were and sails on the coat tails of big business.
