If the UK is having second thoughts about its standing in the European, it appears we are not alone. Poland too, seems to be undergoing its usual bout of ritual bedwetting, with the opposition party calling for a referendum on joining the euro, after an opinion poll had 56 percent opposing joining.

Furthermore, after an "extraordinary debate on the issues", the parliament has postponed until February a vote on Poland's accession to the European fiscal pact, after it lost confidence in its ability to win it. The opposition, which had threatened to boycott the vote, claimed that the pact was "harmful to Poland, for Polish entrepreneurs and unconstitutional".

As to the euro, prime minister Donald Tusk had warned parliament in December that : "In front of us is the decision whether to be a part of this heart of Europe … or whether we are a marginal state its own currency". The country must determine in the coming months its line of approach, he said, "otherwise the train leave without us."

I remember the lies being reported and told in Slovenia, the same in Croatia - men with money, global conglomerates and power mad apparatchiks, Politicians - luv the EU. I am sure the Greek administration and the Athens establishment are still harking on about the benefits of joining the euro.

Its the same sh*7 across the continent of Europe where that particular country is either, in the tentacles of Brussels, or is seeking to join the idiot client states already enslaved within the Empire - Rome did.....[well vaguely] much the same thing - a bit of persuasion [trade] - before all out conquest.

I am sure the Polish people love the latest initiativel from van Rompey to expand the integration agenda with Russia. Western Europe has offered to surrendr to Russia and introduce Global Governance. I really wonder why we brought the iron curtain down.It looks like we've lost the Cold War after all. http://occupywallst.org/...for-global-governance-w/

The Poles have more to lose than the other EU members,a case of out of the frying pan into the fire. But as usual the draw of being in with the "big boy"s wins the elite of that country over, its far too easy to hand it all over to someone else and still collect the salary,...then they do not get blamed when things go wrong.

Do we need to start calling it "top table syndrome"? Or some such?

Talking of telling the same old lies to the same old audience, the pseudo-reasonableness of the euro-frauds is once more back with a vengeance in today's Torgraph via Damian Reece. He must be seeing his chiropractor on a daily basis, as the gibberish he spouts must see him tie himself in knots.

He admits, for instance, that the EU exports more to us than we to them, hence we hold more of the cards in that case. Then, however, he wins the award for disordered thinking:

'We could try to negotiate our own bilateral agreements, but given our market of 60m people we’re unlikely to win such attractive terms as a market such as the EU’s 500m. It’s true the likes of Switzerland do it but I don’t believe we should be aspiring to be Switzerland — no offence to the Swiss.'

So let's get this straight.

The Swiss manage to have bilateral relations with the EU and access to the single market, just as we wish to. They do so despite being an independent, sovereign nation state, and despite having a population of less than 8 million (13% the size of the UK's). Through this they achieve a higher per capita GDP than us, higher average incomes than us, higher life satisfaction results than us, and higher life expectancies than us.

Oh so mighty Reece though thinks we shouldn't be aspiring to be like the Swiss, even though they're better than us on virtually any measurable criteria!

How do such idiots get paid for producing such crap? It'd be a dream come true to be like the Swiss. When do we get to string these lying morons up?

Different country, same old .......!

As this article alludes. If you change the names mentioned in it to any of those equivalents here, or elsewhere, you would not notice the difference.

Its as if the entire political class of Europe, and perhaps most of the rest of the world, have been somehow collectively brain-washed. Quite an achievement.

Far from building a Europe united in harmony, they are creating one that is based on strife. Again, quite an achievement.
