Even the loss-making Guardian recognises that Mr Cameron's bum steer has been given the bum's rush. But at least the people of the entity called "Humberside" have been bright enough to reject Prescott and Godfrey Bloom. Even a Conservative is better than that pair.

Meanwhile, we're in Leamington Spa, a bloggers' convention apart from anything else, struggling with a surfeit of CH3CH2OH. We'll make more sense when it's all over.

Directly elected mayors didn't go down well either.

Do they ever ask what the public want or just remorselessly try one harebrained distraction after another? We're not buying what they are selling. We already elect them so why would we elect someone else to add to the layers?

The spin was quick to get going that low turnouts were because they hadn't spent enough money advertising it. I'm sure turnouts would have been better if we could have properly refused their advances with a 'no' vote.

Well then, if ya wants some fun, call the plods and report a raucous party overflowing with drunks. Over here in West Pondia, that always gets the coppers running. They enjoy using their nightsticks and Tasers on drunks every chance they get. Unless, of course, those drunks are Only Ones. Then all is quickly forgiven and forgotten. Perfessional courtesy, dontcha know?

Thinking of you all and your task at Leamington Spa; Best Wishes for a successful meeting.

Meanwhile, Dr. N: Your "Foxtrot Oscar" posts always amuse me because of memories of BOAC's G-APFO. This time I checked it out on the net and was delighted to find some excellent pictures of the beauty, as here at G-APFO , and in the place we knew as "Honoruru" ... I'm sure I saw her years later in Florida and now find that she was eventually sold to Boeing and scrapped in Arizona, in 1988.

Sigh.

Nowadays they can't even produce a decent aircraft livery, let alone a police force that anyone can care about.

Another hair-brained idea from this government that nobody seems interested in

http://www.telegraph.co....s-no-one-registers.html

As somebody commented - who wants to take out a loan for 25 years?

Further evidence that our elite truly are out of touch.

Prescott? Laugh I nearly sha7 - there must be a God after all.

Love ThumpUp LOL

Just given Hannan and Farage a piece of the action as I see it - good luck and try hard not to argue [too much] in Leamington.

Oh yeah and I nearly forgot - look out for the spooks - you'll be on the radar by now.

Dr North did the same trick with Witterings from Witney, but we failed to spot it.

Please hold: your call is important to us.

Hope you all have a good and productive time in Leamington. I look forward to seeing the report.
On other matters, it seems that the People have not given their consent to the latest scam, the PCCs, it should therefore go away. From the bye-election results there was not a lot of consent there either, still I do not suppose anything will change. Hurry on the Harrogate Agenda.

Methinks that is probably NOT the term the Leamington Spa staff would use...

Yes I know. Sounds so horrible.

That's corporate law for you.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention things like tax codes. There are many things to examine which are beyond our direct control.
