Bernard Jenkin wants to us to leave the EU "in months rather than years", repealing the European Communities Act of 1972 and ignoring Article 50.

This is the sort of blind stupidity to which Booker was referring and is rightly slated by Pete as a waste time. No sensible Government is going to go down this route, in breach of treaty law, so there is no point even in pursuing it. Mr Jenkin does himself, his constituents and the rest of us no service at all in pursuing this line. It is childish to the point of idiotic, and potentially very damaging.

MPs should do the job for which they are paid – scrutinising and (in power) supporting the government. They are not paid to indulge themselves in childish fantasies.
