For years now, endless numbers of pieces have been written about the relationship between climate change activism and energy prices. For just as many years, though, the legacy media has all but ignored the subject until now, when it suddenly becomes fashionable.
And thus, do we have the
Telegraph declare, "Climate change alarmism caused our high energy prices", with the sub-head, " "People will die this winter because of the environmentalist obsession with the end of the world".
This is the great sage Jacob Rees-Mogg, MP, KGB and bar, making what is commonly known by us plebs as a "statement of the bleedin' obvious". To most of us, this has about the same level of topicality as a newspaper headlining: "world is round". But, because the author is a man of "prestige", he is allowed to tell us all what we already knew and have known for years.
Nevertheless, the piece has great value. It demonstrates just how far behind the curve the bubble-dwellers of Westminster really are. What is common knowledge to the likes of you and I comes as a great revelation to the Moggs. And, such is their detachment from the real world, they fondly assume that because they personally have "discovered" it, it must be news to everybody else.
Here also is the arrogance of the legacy media writ large. No matter what anyone (most of us) know and are saying, nothing is news, nothing even exists, until they say it is news and publish it. No wonder it is a dying industry, a hollow joke to everyone outside the bubble, as they peddle Moggs droppings and try to convince us they're selling caviare.
