To be candid I was looking for a quotation for the Conservative History blog. Naturally, I looked up the man who was possibly the greatest of the conservative historians: Lord Acton. Having gone through all the permutations of âpower corruptsâ or âtends to corruptâ, I found one that suits the theme of this blog admirably: âThe danger is not that a particular class is unfit to govern. Every class is unfit to govern.âHow could one disagree?
