On October 12, 1492 Admiral Christopher Columbus together with the captains of La Pinta and La Niña landed on what they believed to be an island off eastern Asia, possibly China.
It was not, of course, but one of the islands of the Bahamas. The beginnings of the discovery and conquest of the New World and a huge change in European history. There is a posting on
